“Not Photogenic?” Why That Doesn’t Matter And What I Tell My Couples Instead By Anna Laska Photography

Let me give you some advice, especially if you’re worried about not looking good in photos.

I hear this all the time.
'Anna, I’m not photogenic' and every time, I remind my lovely couples: you don't need to be photogenic to have a beautiful photos. Honestly. you just need to be you. Sounds cliche but it’s true.

Here’s what I want you to remember.

Being photogenic is not about having the perfect smile or knowing how to pose, It’s all about feeling comfortable in the moment. That’s when the real connection and your personality some through and that’s what makes a photo truly special.

So, if you’re feeling nervous on how your wedding photo turn out. here’s my best advice:

Do not focus on camera. Focus on your partner. Hold their hand, laugh, talk and move. I will be there to gently guide you so you never feel stiff or unsure.

Let go of perfection. you don’t need to perform. The best photos comes from the real moment.

Trust the process. I create a relaxed and natural atmosphere so you can just be yourselves and I promise, that’s more than enough.

What I do instead of stiff posing:

I will help you move naturally, so it always feel easy and genuine
I will make space your emotions to come through whether it’s a big laugh or emotional moment.
I will make sure to capture in-between moments that tell your story

So if you're stressing and thinking about, ‘I’m just not good in front of a camera,’ please hear this:

You are more than enough, exactly as you are. And with the right support (hi, that’s me!), you’ll walk away with photos that truly reflect you and your energy.
