The Top 9 Wedding Trends for 2025

Hey Friends! I'm Anna, a wedding photographer based in Scotland, UK. I’ve been so lucky to see so many beautiful weddings, and I’m always observing what’s new in the wedding world. If you’re planning your wedding in 2025, here are the top wedding trends you might want to choose:

1. Weekday Weddings - Why wait for the weekends when you can have your wedding on a weekday. Venues are mostly available and you can even save some extra cash.
Plus! It’s a great excuse for your guest to take a cheeky day off and celebrate with you!

2. Sustainable Weddings - Why not make your day eco-friendly? More couples are thinking about the environment. They are now considering choosing to be eco-friendly. Like recyclable invitations and locally sourced flowers, nowadays sustainability is becoming a big factor.

And why not? go for second hand wedding dresses or donating decor after their wedding.

3. Bold Colours - Neutral tones are already a staple color for years, but bold colors are making a comeback. The vibrant shades like emerald green, deep orange, or hot pink. Imagine these colors and how it can add so much personality to your decor and can absolutely change the vibe of your wedding.

4. Non-Traditional Venues - Weddings are moving away from traditional reception halls. Couples are choosing unique locations like industrial warehouses, art galleries, and farms. This unconventional vibe makes everything feel more unique and fun!

5. Micro Weddings with a Twist - Small weddings are still popular, but couples are adding their own twist. Intimate guest lists allow for customised experiences, like personalised menus or special entertainment. It’s all about creating meaningful moments.

6. Live Streaming for Guests - your guest can’t make it? No worries! Why not try to exclusively live stream your wedding day for your faraway friends and family because why should anyone miss out?

7. Interactive Food Stations- Food is becoming an experience at weddings. Instead of traditional sit down meals, couples are opting for interactive food stations. Think like build your own tacos, live sushi rolling, or even dessert bars. I’m sure your guest will be talking about your food for ages!

8. Minimalist Cakes - I can see that more couples are choosing a smaller, and sleek designs with clean lines or some are skipping the traditional cake and going for unique dessert options like doughnut towers or cupcake displays

9. Personalised Wedding Details - It’s all about the little things that show who you are as a couple. Making a custom monogram, handwritten notes for your guests. Add  your shared hobbies as a couple into your decor. This will make your wedding truly feel yours
