JEN & PADDY | CAIRN'S FARM WEDDING |

JEN & PADDY | CAIRN'S FARM WEDDING |

Hey there, beautiful people! 🌻

How are you all?

I am super buzzing as my wedding season officially started a few weeks ago!
This year I will shoot at 25 weddings and I cannot be more excited! 🥰

I recently had the honor of capturing the magic of Jen and Paddy's wedding day at the beautiful Cairn's Farm Estate. It was my first time shooting there, but I hope I will be back sooner rather than later as I loved the venue and the people managing the place.

The drive to Cairn's Farm Estate from my home in Falkirk took about 45 minutes, and I enjoyed the journey. During the ride, I was listening to the Mel Robbins podcast. Do you listen to her as well? She’s so wise, and I love her interviews with really inspiring people.

Anyway! When I arrived, I was greeted by Paddy, who looked very handsome, and he showed me around. I said hi to everyone, and Paddy took me to Jen, who was getting ready with the girls in one of the rooms in a cottage. The girls from @chloeballantinebridal were preparing hair and make-up for them.

From the moment I stepped into the bridal prep area, I could feel the excitement in the air! Fun music was playing, and the girls were dancing. I still need to get Jen’s Spotify playlist she created because her music was totally up my street!

There was also a tablet recording the room to create a timelapse, so I am looking forward to seeing the video from it. (Of course, I had to do my silly dance a few times!)

Let me tell you about Jen's outfit – she rocked white trousers, heels, a white crop top, and a see-through top with pearls instead of a traditional dress, and she looked absolutely stunning! I cannot stop looking at her.

As the ceremony began, led by the lovely Andrea @soulful.celebrant, the atmosphere was filled with solemnity and love. Jen and Paddy were surrounded by their nearest and dearest, and you could feel the warmth of their connection. The ceremony was also led by Steve (Paddy’s godfather) and Jackie, who are family friends and contributed to this lovely celebration.

When Jen and Paddy were exchanging vows, I literally had to stop my tears because I couldn't see what I was doing. My vision got blurry as my mascara started to dissolve in my eye, and it was stinging haha. I have been taking pictures at weddings for 10 years now, but their vows were in the top 3, honestly. It was as if they were speaking to each other from their souls, and it was just on another level of intimacy. Absolutely special moment. I was so happy for them!

Straight after the ceremony, I started taking family pictures. We were shooting inside as the rain appeared (thanks, Scotland!). But luckily, we got some pretty good weather after dinner, so guests were mostly outside, and I was taking photos of them there. The surrounding areas of Cairn’s Farm - WOW. I could definitely live there. Just nature around, Highland cows, lots of greenery, mountains in the background. This place is definitely a good one to get married at.

And then came the party – it was so fun! @cutthecakeband made everyone come to the dancefloor; these guys were amazing! I was dancing with the guests as well; you really couldn’t tell I was “working” haha.

I always say, when I get booked for your wedding, you’re not just getting a professional with the camera. You’ll get an extra bridesmaid, dress fluffer, help, cheerleader, and extra guest.

One of the many sweet things of the day was the Polaroid cam they had set up alongside the guest book. Guests could use an Instax camera to capture themselves instantly, and seeing those photos printed out and placed in a photo book with a short message was such a wonderful touch. I had a photo taken of myself as well and I pasted it into the book with a message to Jen and Paddy.

When I said my goodbyes to Jen, Paddy, and their closest people, I went to put a message into the guest book, then I was dancing with people, chatting to some couples, and after 35 minutes, Jen’s mum looked at me with a smile and asked, “Are you still here?” hearing me saying goodbye a long time ago hahah.

Jen and Paddy's wedding was a truly beautiful celebration of love and happiness, and I had been waiting for their wedding for a long time.

I'm beyond grateful to have been a part of it and to have had the opportunity to capture their special moments, and I would love to invite you to enjoy these sneak peeks from Jen and Paddy's magical day. Trust me, you won't want to miss them!

With LOVE,

Your friend Anna🌻
